Many children want to grow up quickly, they think that become teenager is better because they have much freedom. Students who are still in senior high school say that they want to graduate quickly and then become a university student. When asked afterwards, they say that college students are cool because they do not have to wear a uniform, they also can choose what class they want to take. But, being a college student can be harder for the following reasons.

              The first is being a college student means you have to be independent. For example, if you live far away from your home you must do everything by yourself. If you want to eat, you can not just wait for your mom to cook and set the food on the table for you. You have to prepare for your own food by cooking or simply buying from the restaurant. It is not easy of course, compared when you live with your parents. The other example is when you are sick you can not depend on others, you have to buy your own medicine and take care of yourself. Otherwise, you will probably get even worse. It’s much different compare to when you were still kids and your parents look after you if you were sick.

              Besides being independent, you have to start becoming responsible. The more mature you are, you have to decide what will you do in the future by yourself. What major will you take on the university, what kind of job do you want? You can not ask people to choose those things for you. You have to start thinking from now to decide. After that, you must be responsible for your decision, for example, if you want to enrol in the best university, you have to study hard so you can get what you want. You also have to be responsible for your duty as a college student. You can not skip your class or neglect your assignment.

              The last is you have to be a good manager. A good manager here refers to time management. If you are a college student you have to be smart enough to divide your time either for studying or hanging out. On the other hands, you also have to handle the money that your parents give to you. You have to divide the money for buying food, print for your assignment, buy books etc. you can not just ask for more money if you already spend it all. Because when you are older, you are expected to to be more sympathetic towards your parents who are struggling to work for you.

              In conclusion, although being college students look way more fun, it is also hard at the same time. You have to be responsible, independent and good at managing everything, either your time or money. Nevertheless, if you can handle it all you will not find those hard. Instead, you will still enjoy your youth.
